Two Days in New York City

These pictures were taken during two days of walking through Manhattan. May 5th and 6th, 2001, a scant four months before September 11th. It's odd that I chose to take the majority of these photos from the top of the World Trade Center, but I'm very happy that I have a record of the way things were before the towers were destroyed. I was particularly taken by St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, which was destroyed when the towers collapsed.

I was accompanied on this trip by my good friend Lynn, who introduced me to the Chelsea Hotel, and changed my opinion that New York City is one of the most hideous places on planet earth.
